Curiously the lower number, the one starting 863 got called before the one starting 861 so they weren't working in ascending number order (which I've had before: I used to have xxxx10, xxxx45 and xxxx50 and I would get the same cold caller on each number in turn). Histon station-what a sad sight to see the building minus its canopy standing all alone alongside the busway but at least it hasn't been knocked down - yet. I suspect the problem is that they're not here yet, lots of developments on the way, lots of new costs associated with that, but not much more income. And extra households bring proportionate extra costs anyway (more bins to empty, more children to educate, more old people to look after), so you're only going to get small savings due to economies of scale. The question that's puzzling me is why the Milton Parish Council bit has gone up despite the precept remaining the same. I can't honestly believe we've got *less* council tax payers than last year.
