Indeed. But to me, most of the messages so far in this thread seemed
unecessarily negative towards the event in the community centre and its
motives.

I would hope that anyone who likes can do whatever they like in aid of the
Park without necessarily having to be part of one particular Campaign.

But I agree that it isn't particularly obvious what they'll do with any
proceeds of the event. I imagine that the organisers of the Campaign
(web-site etc.) aren't at this stage in the business of collecting money, so
maybe wouldn't have wanted it anyway, and I'm not sure if one can just hand
money over to SCDC saying it's to help the park. If it stayed open, then I
suppose any such money could be said to have helped, but if it _still_
closed, then the money would I guess just go on something else.
