I was out today in the park collecting signatures for a while and
people do want to give money. I suppose pledges would get round the
problem, people could pledge that if a trust was set up they would
support it financially..
In the meantime, maybe we should encourage people to buy a season
ticket for the car-parking (even if they don't use the car-park) for
£15 a year. I'm not sure how you buy them though - is it in the
visitors centre?? I know this doesn't solve the long term problem,
but if SCDC can say X amount of people have already bought a season
ticket, this may make it a more viable proposition for any trust to
take it over.
