I'm not disagreeing. I suspect they're also thinking about activities
like paintballing, which won't go down well in an LNR. But our petition
says:

Milton Country Park is an asset not just to Milton and the surrounding
villages but to the whole of South Cambridgeshire. We are appalled by
the proposal to close it and ask that South Cambridgeshire District
Councillors do everything in their power to ensure it stays open and
   free to use.

That's what people have signed up to (in ever growing numbers!) and so
that's what our objective is. To make them do that. *How* they do that
isn't for the Campaign to dictate.

Yes and no. The capping was done by HMG, and unless Brown calls a snap
General Election you've got a while to wait yet (and in any case we will
elect a Tory in Cambridgeshire South East whatever happens).

However the SCDC cabinet who made this decision is Tory dominated (five
Tories, two independents) and we have a district council election in May
so you can pick who you vote for then with that in mind if you like.

But here's a thought. Given the literature I've seen, we can expect
Gerda Covell to stand again for the Tories in Milton. You (and others on
this list) might care to contact her and explain that if she wants your
support in May she needs to use her influence *now* on her party
colleagues to reverse the cabinet decision ...
