I've been surprised too TBH however there has been a lot of discussion
elsewhere and things are moving along. I should be able to say more
about that later in the week or early next week.

It certainly seems to be. Cabinet agreed at their meeting in December
that they will instruct officers to close the Park if they can't find
someone to take it on by 31st August.

Yes it can. And if it closes it won't be able to re-open as the land
South of the 13th public drain will revert to the freeholder (SCDC lease
it, other than a small bit roughly where the play area is - the Visitor
Centre is on the bit they lease so that will be interesting if the Park
closes!).

The rest of the land, north of the drain, is in the ownership of SCDC
and the County Council and I would expect them to do everything they can
to prevent public access are still responsible for health and safely in
the Park, even if it's closed. So no more trespassing like people used
to do before the Park existed.

Good question ...

Indeed. And we will be calling on them to do just that shortly. Watch
this space.

I do hope so. Milton won't be anything like such a nice place to live if
it closes.
