There are timetable boards (or display cases) at the following stops,
starting from the north end of the village:
Landbeach Road - southbound stop,
Waggon & Horses - southbound stop (there was one at the northbound stop some
time ago but it was vandalised and subsequently removed),
O/s the Apostolic Church (southbound) and opposite the newsagents
(northbound),
O/s Tescos - both sides of road.
The two stops near the vets don't have any timetable display cases.
The two at the stops outside Tescos were originally put up by the County
Council to promote bus use to/from the Country Park - whether they still own
them I don't know. The rest are owned by Stagecoach (I believe) and updated
as and when necessary.
I would be quite happy to print the Sunday 19 bus timetable from the County
Council website, laminate them (I have a laminator) and put them in the
display cases (I also have the tools to undo the covers to the cases to put
them in - help from HMC would be appreciated). All I need now is permission
from Stagecoach and/or the County Council to do this...
If permission is not forthcoming, could MPC purchase some display cases
(plus fixings to enable them to be attached to shelters or lampposts) and
put them up at stops next to the Stagecoach/County Council ones (this would
also put two display cases at the two stops outside the vets that currently
don't have any timetables displayed)? 10 would be needed ideally.
This is probably best done when the timetable changes at the end of March.
It's strange that the Sunday 19 bus service isn't in the current Stagecoach
9/X9 timetable, as before it changed in April last year it was printed
alongside the then Monday-Saturday Stagecoach 19/19A services even though
they didn't - and still don't - operate the Sunday service.
Martin.
