There will be a very heavy steel shutter like a mini lock gate that will close
the lake at the railway line at times of flood, and as we know from basic
school physics, water finds it's own level so the lake would not be able to
raise the level of the water. but talk to the CSL guys Mike is more than happy
to talk people through the plans and engineers reports, and he does live in
Milton or at lease did last time I talked to him.
What the rowing lake will bring to Milton is a sold green area from the country
park to Waterbeach that will be landscaped and have public assess for walkers
and cyclists, this will mean the land will never be build on, something we
should all be grateful for I would have thought, and if the country park is
closed it might be the only green area left for the public.
