Greetings from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

I have just been updating my genealogy web site and decided to hyperlink
to a few other pages in support of my work for the benefit of viewers
who visit my site. I was delighted to find your site
www.miltonvillage.org.uk and stumbled upon the naming of some roads etc.
Of interest are Froment Way and Coulson Close and Butt Lane. My
ancestors were THURLEY (aka THURLOW) who lived in Fen End (now Road) in
the 1840s. Some THURLOWs who emigrated - William, John who married Susan
FROMENT, Louisa Sarah THURLOW who married John Watson COULSON, Jane
THURLEY who married a Thomas COLE (no relation to the vicar COLE) all of
whom lived and died in New Zealand. Sarah THURLEY married a Wolton WIGG
and lived in Victoria. Anne THURLEY who married a Phillip BUTLER lived
in Bull Lane, Ely.

I also noticed with great interest a reference to the name GUNNELL. My
family history research leads me to believe there is some connection
between the GUNNELL and the THURLEY families but I do not know how other
than I think the families were close friends. Anyway, I was wondering if
anyone locally has done any GUNNELL family history research as I would
like to get in touch. My web site can be reached
http://www.thurlow.net.tf if you are interested. Congratulations on your
site, I enjoyed reading it and furthering my only limited knowledge of
Milton Village. My wife and I visited the village a few years ago. It
was wonderful to walk in the paths of my ancestors.

Cheers

Ray Thurlow-Berthelsen
