I was about to phone up the banks to notify them of the change, and  
noticed that both NatWest and HSBC are already sending our statements  
to the new postcode, without any intervention on my part. Of course,  
this doesn't help if the vendor's system insists on using the old  
postcode, but at least one side are updating their databases promptly.
