Over 2500 petitioners say 'SAVE HISTON STATION'

By signing the SOS petition, the communities of Histon and Impington
have clearly indicated their opposition to the proposed demolition of
their historic station building.

On Tuesday 15th May, local campaigner, Pene Nudds presented this
petition to Councillor Mac McGuire who is the cabinet member
responsible for Transport and Access, including Highways and access,
Passenger Transport and the Guided Busway.

Pene comments:

"Councillor McGuire accepted the petition and I was also able to
tell him that the ideas we had identified for alternatives to
demolition were supported by a broad cross section of the community.
I asked him to consider our case and explained that we are not
political, merely a group wanting to preserve some of our heritage
and to get the most out of the opportunities presented by the
construction of the Guided Busway. "
