  Thanks to everyone who has sent emails, written letters, responded on the website. Parish and County Councillors were able to take this evidence to a meeting with Stagecoach MD Andy Campbell on Monday and, as a result, the timetable for the Citi 7 has been amended.

  It's now been published online: http://www.stagecoachbus.com/uploads/Citi7Nov09.pdf The key change is that Station Road and Cambridge Road will now be served during the day on weekdays and Saturdays.

  There will still be no service during peak times (or Sundays) to Cambridge Road and Station Road, and the services on the guideway, which start on the same day that these changes are introduced - November 29th, may provide an alternative.

  All options, including services alternating between Cambridge Road/Station Road and Impington Lane/New Road were explored at the meeting. The compromise reached is an improvement on the first plan - which totally cut out Cambridge Road and Station Road - and Councillors plan to continue to meet with Stagecoach and County Council officers to gain further improvements.

  County Councillor Sue Gymer said: "I am still very disappointed that we haven't managed to get Stagecoach to see the commercial sense in continuing the service to Station Road and Cambridge Road.Morally we had a strong point and Andy Campbell has responded positively to this aspect. It allows villagers to access the doctors and business during the day."

  The emails, letters and feedback made it possible to gain this improvement. We know that some people will still have real problems, and the new service may not solve the reliability issues, or may suffer from overcrowding. Please let us have your comments, either by email or post to the Parish Office, or on www.citi7.org.uk - a new site set up to be a forum to collect and share views so that the service which this route provides to its users can be steadily improved.
