Dear all; surely the main point about this is that it is just the start of
a gradual erosion of our C7 service. By cutting out a well-used section of
the route they will reduce passenger numbers and thenuse that as an excuse
to slash the service even more. I am fortunate in having a car so that I
can use the Park and Ride, but at very busy periods I used to park at the
Baptist Chapel and catch the C7 if I had a lot of shopping to get because I
live a long walk from the bus stop, and I know of other older people who do
the same. At some time in the future I will probably have to give up driving
and as I live at the north end of Histon I will be effectively abandoned
by public transport, is this the way we want to be heading?

I am sure this proposal is just a cynical ploy to force reluctant
passengers onto the guided bus; I am informed that not all guided buses will go to
Drummer Street but will stop at Queen Anne Terrace, hardly convenient for
the elderly or less mobile. We definitely need to mobilise opinion and make
our objections known, particularly with regard to lack of bus access to the
Firs surgery.
