Subject: [hisimp-chat] Does anyone remember this murder in the late 1950s?
A woman who worked at Chivers was found murdered - she had come off her bicycle. There was a hunt for the murderer and a few weeks later the police found that a gypsy man who had been concealed inside a caravan had shot himself.
I was a little girl living at RAF Oakington and on the night of the Summer Ball we had military police patrolling because they thought the murderer might know the officers' quarters might be empty and break in for food.
Does anyone remember this?
