I think many of us are all for reducing the speed of the traffic. The issue
I have is that reducing the posted speed limit does nothing to increase
compliance and I am convinced will have a disappointing effect. Changing the
speed limit is just one suggestion to mitigate a range of problems caused by
the volume and speed of traffic on the B1049. I'd like to see a more rounded
analysis of the problems and possible mitigations to arrive at a carefully
evaluated and costed (in every sense - not just £) set of propositions for
the community to choose from. This will very likely *include* changes to
posted speed limits but I would expect that aspect to be a relatively small
part of the scheme.
